Active Customer Map
I want to make sure I am not missing any of my customers on a trip through the territory next week... Give me a map of my active customers, ones who have been buying from me in the last year.
Find Customers under the Contacts menu.
Use one of the pre-defined filters that shows just the Active Customers.
Switch to Maps view.
The addresses for each customer are marked with pins on the map. Zoom using the the buttons on screen, or your mouse cursor and wheel, to view specific areas of interest. Click on the pins to show each Customer's contact information and some sales numbers.
Map on Mobile Devices
Finish early with an appointment, and have a little extra time to fill? Pull out your phone or tablet, and see your Customers in the area. Maybe this time, you want to do the same Map view, but in a much tighter circle to where you are currently? Filter the list first by State and/or City, then press the Map button to get a much more local view of options to call on.
Map Leads and Prospects
Mapping isn't just for "Active Customers", as in this example, but can be done for all your different contact types -- look up Leads, Prospects, Vendors; filter by Categories to find entries for specific industries or market segments. All of the criteria available in your CRM can be used to refine your map to what is needed right now.
Details and Directions
Clicking on a pin in the map calls up the details for that Customer, including all of the sales columns, growth metrics and last visit. This pop-up is also an excellent place to jump to other information about this entry:
Click the magnifying glass to zoom into a close-up of their location on the map.
Click the Directions arrow to pull up maps.google.com with the directions to the customer from your current location.
Click the card itself to pull up the fill Customer entry, or
Click the ... button to jump directly to the Company and view the last Appointment or Journal entered for them.
Don't forget to add a new Appointment and/or Journal for this sales call when you make it.
